DescriptionThis waterfront remodel on Vashon Island transformed an existing home into a modern retreat designed to embrace its Puget Sound setting. Designed by Vandeventer + Carlander Architects, the project was featured in The Seattle Times Pacific Northwest Magazine for its thoughtful design and connection to the surrounding landscape. Working within the constraints of the existing footprint and site restrictions, the remodel focused on maximizing natural light, improving functionality, and strengthening the relationship between the home and its west-facing water views. Large windows and doors create a seamless transition between indoor living spaces and the expansive outdoor deck. McIntyre Construction carefully executed the renovation while incorporating durable materials, energy-efficient systems, and custom details that enhance both comfort and long-term performance.
